Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore Tour
Monday, July 28, 2008

The Gray Lines tour is fully narrated and includes transportation and admission fees.  Board the bus at 4:45 PM and depart for Crazy Horse at 5:00 PM.  Return to the Ramkota around 10:30 PM.  Meals will be on your own.  Both Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore have restaurants. You will be at Crazy Horse for about one hour and at Mt. Rushmore for about two hours. $ 40.00 per person.
From 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM, you will tour the Crazy Horse Memorial, home of the world’s largest mountain sculpture in progress. The Memorial’s visitor complex includes the 40,000 square foot Welcome Center and theaters, the Indian Museum of North America, the Native American Educational & Cultural Center, the sculptor’s log home studio and workshop, indoor and outdoor galleries, museum gift shop, restaurant and snack bar areas and expansive viewing veranda. Many Native American artists and crafts people create their artwork and visit with guests at the Memorial during the summer season.

Then, board the bus at 7:15 for the short ride to Mt. Rushmore, the American symbol of freedom and hope.   Carved into the southeast face of the mountain are the faces of four presidents, an inspirational monument to American history. The faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln look down from their stoney heights, and remind everyone that even the impossible is possible. The Memorial complex includes the Visitors’ Information Center, the Lincoln Borglum Museum, the Sculptor’s studio, a gift shop and a restaurant.  The lighting Ceremony takes place each evening in the amphitheater. You’ll board the bus for the ride home at 9:45 PM and reach the Ramkota about 10:30 PM.
