SDALL: Pioneering the Future of Adult Education in partnership with COABE and SDDOL
The South Dakota Association for Lifelong Learning (SDALL) and the South Dakota Department of Labor (SDDOL) as cosponsoring partners with the Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE) to offer the Mount Rushmore Institute. Other contributing partners include the South Dakota Workforce Development Council (SDWDC), South Dakota Career Learning Centers and South Dakota Adult Education and Literacy Programs.
The Mount Rushmore Institute is a two and a half day event that uses the backdrop of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota to provide comprehensive training in strands that have been identified by the state professional development taskforce as priority educational need among adult educators in the area.
SDALL Pioneering the Future of Adult Education is exactly what the Mount Rushmore Institute will do. From the opening speaker to the closing remarks, participant will immerse themselves in the past, present, and future of adult education. The institute will provide glimpses into the past including exposure to the Native American culture, cowboy life, homesteading, present day industry and economics, to the future through science and research.
Committee members have worked to provide cultural exhibits and entertainment, tours, and memorabilia for conference attendees and their families. Vendors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to educate the participants on their resources utilizing the exhibit hall model of conferences.
